Last two shots of my little Palouse falls trip. Just a couple of snaps to show my medium format gear flexing its muscles.
BTW anyone use much of Ektachrome E100 VS? I’ve shot a few rolls of it now in 220 and really like it. Doesn’t pop quite like velvia but it’s a close second and 20 shots per roll is awesome sometimes.

Hi Everyone… sorry i’ve been dead quiet on my side for so long. About 6 weeks ago work suddenly exploded here in Seattle and I’m *just* starting to get my head above water. When work comes in hard like that, I tend to go one of two ways with photography – either I do it even more as an outlet, or I don’t even look at a camera for weeks. This experience has been somewhat in between as I was planning on doing nothing but ended up doing a fair …

Took Friday off work for a much needed mini break down the Oregon coast. Only made it to the Northern tip and we hung out there for a couple of days. For those who are amused by others [near] misfortune (i am), you’ll be glad to know we got into a bit of a pickle when I left the car ignition on while sitting reading for an hour or so. Had my phone connected over bluetooth, mp3′s playing, heated seats on… within what felt like no time, the car electronics …

I purchased an Olympus OM 21mm f/2.0 lens for my OM-4 a few months back and have loved it on the film camera. This lens is special (in my opinion) as its a) tiny b) great quality and c) the fastest super wide you can get this side of a $5k Leica.
Last night was the first time I mounted it on a Canon (5D Mark II) and thought I’d test a Zuiko lens characteristic of close focusing…

This is Rio… I had four exposures of Velvia 50 left in my camera – but had accidentally set the camera to 220 film (instead of 120). The film advance wind was extremely stiff to turn so I figured I may be looking at a ruined roll of film (or scratched or whatever). At the very best I guessed I’d have lost a couple of images so I just wanted to finish the roll off and rattled through four shots of Rio. I got it developed and it turns …

The last images I’ll share from the first two rolls of film I shot with the Pentax 67ii last weekend (and have been posting this week). It turned out to be a great coulpe of rolls – with a usable hit rate of about 80% from just 20 shots. Normally I hover around 3 – 4 shots out of 12 (for 6×6 MF) or 8 – 12 shots for a 35mm roll of 36 shots – so this was substantially higher. Will be interesting to see if I get anything …

I had poor luck as far as photography went this weekend with the weather gods against me. First of all I woke up at 7am to go catch the sunrise on Saturday but it never happened. I finished off a role of film nonetheless and spent the day waiting for the weather to improve so I had enough light to try some high speed macro work. It didn’t so we went out, and low-and-behold, the sun broke and I was without a camera. Sunday I decided to not go chasing …

In Singapore we were fortunate enough to be able to occasionally help out at a shelter we regularly visited (Mutts n Mittens). Since we came to the US, one of the things we said we wanted to do was make a more regular contribution either financially or with photography to dog organisations… Things have gone well, although it hasn’t worked out exactly as I would have liked (there is never enough time). However, in the past year, I’ve managed to do a number of shoots to help get some dogs …

Happy New Year everyone.
OK this is the last in the series… Just a few shots of my little family as we made our way down the coast. As I’ve already said a dozen times, it was a wonderful four day trip and I intend to do it several times more over the next 12 months. I’m delighted with the shots I took over the week – only the second time I’ve ever felt strongly (i.e. brave enough) to bring only film equipment with me on a trip… I’ll never stop …
