Sakura

21 February 2010 No Comment

The weather has been fantastic in Seattle over the past few days and it’s coincided with what I can only imagine is the early blooming of cherry blossom (Sakura in Japanese). This was taken on my way to work with a new lens for the Pentax 67… It’s a 165mm f/2.8, roughly equivalent to an 85mm f/1.4 in 35mm-speak. Super shallow DOF obviously – this is straight out of the camera and scanned. No DOF trickery – just plain old superfast glass. Shot on Fuji 160c, which I’m using for the first time… I suspect the colours aren’t coming off the scanner as they’re supposed to (still getting to grips with the Epson V700) but so far, it’s a good alternative to Ektar for me – assuming it sticks around (I heard rumours of it being discontinued).
