Squirrel!

25 January 2010 No Comment

I had poor luck as far as photography went this weekend with the weather gods against me. First of all I woke up at 7am to go catch the sunrise on Saturday but it never happened. I finished off a role of film nonetheless and spent the day waiting for the weather to improve so I had enough light to try some high speed macro work. It didn’t so we went out, and low-and-behold, the sun broke and I was without a camera. Sunday I decided to not go chasing a false sunrise and instead awoke to what was one of the most spectacular skies I’ve seen in Seattle since we arrived. Unfortunately it passed to quick and I missed it. The rest of the day, rain and gloom prevailed. So I basically managed to miss the good light all weekend.

Anyway, now I’ve filled my role of the complaining-about-the-weather Brit, thought I’d share this shot. Nothing special but it’s kind of a funny story. If you’ve seen the movie “UP!”, you’ll know there’s talking cartoon dogs in the film. They’re pretty funny, and often mid sentence will break their train of thought and shout “SQUIRREL”, becoming totally distracted. So after we watched the movie, we taught one of my dogs, Rio, to do that as well (not speak, but react to the same word :). So now anytime you say “SQUIRREL”, he runs to the window and looks out of it, looking for … well you get the picture.

So this is Rio, reacting to me saying squirrel. And also having figured that venetian blinds are no match for a talking dog.
