Upcoming reviews

18 December 2009 2 Comments

A few people have emailed me to ask what I’m working on next from a review standpoint so I thought I’d provide an update on my blog so you all know what to expect. In the next month you can expect the following to be posted:

  • Comparative review between the world’s best digital compact camera and a compact film camera
  • Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 ZE Planar T* Lens Review (this is a Zeiss lens for Canon EOS mount – I’ll be testing on a 5D Mark II)
  • Zeiss Ikon film rangefinder
  • Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 Distagon T* (Zeiss wideangle for Leica mount – will be tested on a Zeiss Ikon rangefinder and E-P1 with M mount adapter)
  • Zeiss 50mm f/1.5 Sonnar (Zeiss normal for Leica mount – will be tested on a Zeiss Ikon rangefinder and E-P1 with M mount adapter)

That’ll be the priority. After that, some more C mount lens reviews for micro four thirds.

If the above triggers any specific questions or things you’d like to hear about, let me know via the comments form below and I’ll incorporate that into my reviews. All my gear arrived today – I spent 2 minutes testing the Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 on a 5D Mark II and I’m definitely gonna have some fun with that piece of glass. Here’s the 30s test:

    Hi Lawrence,

I have been following your blog for many years. You are simply great!
By the way, I just wish to highlight the Carl Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 for Leica M-Mount should be Biogon instead of Distagon. I basically have this lens and it is awesome.

    Merry Xmas!

Hey Lee – thanks v much… and for the correction. turns out that there was a mixup and Zeiss sent me the 28mm 2.8 instead of the 21mm. Not as exciting unfortunately but will cover it nonetheless. Pretty impressed with this Zeiss glass thus far.
