Oregon Pacific Coast Trip – “Skies”

28 December 2009 4 Comments

I’ll be uploading my pictures from our Oregon trip last week in four or five parts. Here is the first part in the series – “Skies”.

These are basically shots of the amazing stormy skies that tracked us as we headed down south on our trip. This subject matter has not been a classical area of strength for me so it was fun to actually get a chance to shoot some of those vast open skies.

I’ll post the rest of the images in coming days.

Very good shots in my opinion, all keepers. I love Velvia ones the most, above all the subtle powerfulness of the first one that, I think, is really amazing! I started to follow your work a few years ago for your narrative photography and portraits that impressed me so much but it seems you have a great eye for landscapes as well!

Thanks Filippo… after moving out here from Singapore, it’s certainly taken me a while to “recalibrate” to the expansive views, wide open spaces, etc. Is proving to be fun though. Of course, the real challenge is taking original photography (rather than just technically proficient) – I’m still working on that one :).

    Hi Lawrence:

Any PS on these? Amazing images.

Thanks Ed – the first two have a tiny bit of dodge on the light area (one swipe with a brush at 10%) but that’s it. Prob could have gotten the same result by rescanning but I’m lazy. The rest are untouched and straight off the scanner.
