Freezing Saturday Morning

17 December 2009 No Comment

Just got a roll of Velvia 100 back from the lab. The shots were from Saturday morning onwards when the temperature was a freezing 26 degrees Fahrenheit (about -3c) here in Seattle. I love Velvia… the way it saturates the hell out of everything, the challenge of getting the exposure right, even the way it just looks so cool to be able to hold the slide up to the light to check before scanning.

These are a couple when we trekked out under the cover of darkness to see how the morning would turn out. Sunrise turned out to be a nonevent but things still came out ok. I’ll post evening shots later. All images taken with an Olympus OM-4, Olympus OM Zuiko 21mm f2 / 55mm f/1.2 on Velvia 100. Scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 5000. Noo processing – that’s just how it looks on Velvia.
