Hello, my name is Catharine Houston. I am an AS level student at Berkhamsted School, studying photography. For the exam we were given a list of subjects choices and one of them were connective photographs. I found an artist who took pictures of a room and decided I would like to do staged crime scene photos. Or narrative photography, which is how I came to find you. I have looked through your photos on your site http://www.narrativephotography.com and I really love them. I love the lighting and the details in each photo, from the stains on walls to the dirt and broken objects. They involve many aspects that I want to involve in my pieces.
I would really like if you could tell me what’s your story behind the photos and maybe briefly describe your background. However I understand if you are busy and therefore unable to reply.
But thank you for even glancing at this message, and I’m sorry if it has turned into a premature essay.
    Thanks again, Catharine

Hi Catherine. Thanks for stopping by. I actually created a quick overview post on narrative photography which will explain some of the reasoning, methods and background:

Start off there, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have.
