Cannon Beach, Oregon – Photos
In July this year, we made the 5 hour drive South from Seattle to Cannon Beach in Oregon. I’d heard many great things about the beachtown (and seen many great shots online), so was excited to get down there, kick back for a couple of days and spend a bunch of time with the camera. It turned out to be a wonderful three days, made unforgettable by the fact that it was the last trip that Ume, our female Rottweiler, made with us. I’ve shared a few of the images online, but not as a single collection so it was nice for me to pull them together and put them in one place. Looking back, for a variety of reasons, a couple of these images are the most meaningful I’ve taken with one in particular, my favourite shot this year.
Here are a few shots, the rest are in my gallery. All images are taken with the Canon 5D Mark II.

An impromptu shot taken while Akuri and Ume were playing in the water… My favourite image bar none

The unusual rock formations pepper the horizon all over Cannon Beach

The view back to Cannon Beach from Ecola State Park. That view was one of the highlights of the trip – a must see
