Olympus E-P1 Review Diary – Part 8 – Sample Images IV

18 August 2009 One Comment

Another day in Tokyo, a few more images. I arrived in Ometesando late in the day and as I've already been there a dozen times, went looking for less traditional shots. As the sun was already low, I chose to look for creative backlit scenes. Here are the results.

Before I hit Tokyo, a quick shot near the station… this is out of the camera with the pinhole art filter.

P8170778
*another* insect macro. Shot at 42mm and ISO 1600

P8170796

P8170802
Processed with a holga-like Photoshop action

P8170806
Extreme backlighting at Meiji Shingu

P8170820

More backlighting, I actually really like this image

End of day

    Hi,

Been lurking on your blog for a while and I'm glad you are back on. I love the images and especially the recent ones from Asakusa and Meiji Jingu. I got there a lot when I am in Japan for business. Asakusa mainly for sightseeing when I am there with American coworkers and Meiji Jingu to get away from the craziness of Tokyo and also to buy the omamori charms (lots of pregnancies amongst my friends these days…).

It was wonderful to see different takes on what, to me, is a very familiar location. It's inspired me, when I go back there, to look around with a new perspective and see new things in what is starting to become the "same old same old" places. I can't wait to go back there with my Panasonic LX3 to see what I can see!
