The Contender Asia – Episode One

Yesterday saw the successful launch of The Contender Asia at the Intercontinental Hotel, Singapore. It was a great event, the culmination of many months of effort which saw none other than Mark Burnett in attendance who was also answering questions for the press. Following the event, at 9pm Singapore time, the first episode of The Contender Asia aired on AXN Asia.
The date is also an important one for me as it marks the first time I’m now able to release images from the actual show. Below are some of my favourite shots from the fight. Check out the official Contender Asia website for much more of my work from Episode 1. All images Copyright Lawrence Ripsher.

Just fantastic, Lawrence. Must have been exciting to shoot, let alone exciting to be in on the opening. The photos are really quite excellent – from amazing action to a palpable emotion.
