Canon 1D Mark III Review – AF Part 1, Single Focus mode, All Conditions
So lets start with the easy part – the Canon 1D Mark III,
in Single Focus Mode focuses exceptionally fast and accurately in ALL
conditions. After the microadjustments I was required to perform, I’ve found
the 1D Mk3 to be the fastest focusing camera I’ve ever used. In low light conditions,
it is most apparently and coupling it with fast focusing glass provides a
formidable combination. I prefer to shoot a number of sports in Single Focus
mode (e.g. I shot the entire season of The Contender Asia using single focus
mode on a 5D) and the speed at which the 1D both detects and locks onto a
subject, from any focus point, was a reason enough for me to upgrade.
If you noted from my introduction, this was one of the three
most important reasons for me purchasing this camera in the first place and it
did not disappoint.
In summary, Single Focus mode is superb.

I would like to buy a Canon camera, but in the future cause right now I have a phone that take photos almost just like a pro camera.
