While photographing on set of The Contender Asia, I had the opportunity to witness two young children put on a Muay Thai demonstration for all those in attendance. The performance was stunning and one that left everyone both breathless and on their feet in raptuous applause. The two boys who would have been between the ages of around 5 – 9, were incredible. Their 10 minute display included a powerful Wai Kru ceremonial introduction followed by a mock fight which featured jumping, spinning kicks, flying elbows and powerful knees. Both the beauty and potential damaging power of Muay Thai were there for all to see. With a bit of luck, I’ll get to see these guys perform again in their native Thailand.
