Olympus E-410 Review

21 May 2007 6 Comments

Welcome to my Olympus E-410 review. Unlike my Olympus SP-550
review (link), which was the first to hit the web, this isn’t the first to be posted.
However, it will prove I hope, to be the most comprehensive to date –
particularly as DPReview and DCresource have postponed those due to issues with
the units they received.

This review is divided into five parts:

  1. Part 1
         – Introduction
  2. Part 2
         – Design, Controls, Timings
  3. Part 3
         – Live View
  4. Part 4
         – Image quality
  5. Part 5
         – Conclusion

Hope you enjoy the review.

I am having trouble getting the Olympus E-410 to even take a shot in low light – it sometimes tries to open the flash to help (I think) try and focus. Will it help if I turn off autofocus when shooting in low light?

I just recently became interested in photography, and after reading a ton of reviews and comparisons, the E410 seemed like a great choice as far as price and simplicity for a beginner's SLR.

I just skimmed the review you posted, and I'm really looking forward to reading it more in-depth. Thanks for the hard work- very helpful!
