Olympus E-410 Review coming soon
Earlier this year, Olympus announced two new 10MP DSLR’s – both which have plenty of plenty of promise on the specsheet. I’ve long been a admirer of Olympus and what they’ve contributed to the field of photography and have been waiting for some time for them to add some serious muscle to their lineup. With the introduction of the E-410 and E-510, there is hope amongst Oly faithful that these will be the cameras which will be able to go head to head with Canon and Nikon and grab back some of that market share. Given what these two cameras promise on paper, I’ve also followed with great interest and attended a closed door preview here in
Singapore last month.
Well, today I just received a E-410 with kit lens from Olympus. In addition, I already have a 14-54 f/2.8-3.5 to add to the testing so it’s going to be a busy week for me as I put together a comprehensive field review. It’ll take me about a week to do this. I’ve been reading the other threads out there and it’ll be
interesting to see if the supposed exposure (and other) issues do exist and if they
are as big as they’re made out (or whether I find them to be easily
compensated for with a little user adjustment / learning). For those who
read my previous review(s), you’ll already know I’m not going to do much
in the way of studio / lens charts – this will be a field review where
I’ll try to push the camera to its natural limits and see what kind of
shots I can come up with.
Anyway, stay tuned for more soon. I’m aiming to get the review up by Monday 21st May.
