Bone Changes into Shadow

22 January 2007 6 Comments

I frequently find images that I find utterly inspiring in their originality and that deserve to be seen as many people as possible. Each week I’m going to dig one out from galleries I’ve seen online in the past few days and list it here. This week, David Procter’s "bone changes into shadow" fit that description perfectly. I’ve known David and his work on pbase for some time and I consider his work to be among the most creative and original of any I know. His innovative self portraits, always interesting and not infrequently shocking, have turned out many greats, but this one really stopped me in my tracks. Click on the thumbnail below to go to David’s galleries and view.

This is why I love PBase.

I mean, for quite some time I've been posting and surfing away there pretty much every day, but had never chanced upon David Procter's work before. This is a stunningly creative self portrait, and I cannot believe the rest of that gallery – so many original shots (well, OK, in theory 'every' photo is original, but you know what I mean).

    Cheers for the link.

I'm deeply touched with all of this. Thanks VERY much Lawrence. It's really interesting that you like this picture so much. It was a suggestion someone made about the original image which I didnt get to act upon until the othernight. I love those creative tangents/accidents that occur when you're on the way to somewhere else with an idea. You make your own luck I guess!

It is a very original image It's a great idea that you will find one image per week to share with the rest of us. Sometimes it's just hard to go through all the images on pbase. There are so many talented photographers there and it's great you are giving them exposure here. Keep them coming!

I love David's work too and have been a long time admirer. This is another example of this far reaching imagination, creativity and skills.
